unseen, by queer and undocumented filmmaker Set Hernandez, follows Pedro, a blind, undocumented immigrant, and aspiring social worker as he faces a number of barriers to obtain his college degree, secure a job, and support his family. The film reveals Pedro's dedicated journey to provide mental health care for his community and his personal path of perseverance and healing. Pedro's remarkable perspective as he overcomes grief, frustration, and untimely setbacks, guides others within his community to pursue their dreams and emerge from hardship triumphantly.
Beyond the personal story it conveys, unseen explores the intersections of disability, immigration, and mental health. The film serves as a model for accessible storytelling and contributes to building a world that is more just for disabled and undocumented people.
